1. Where Did I Come From by Peter Mayle - Covers the basic facts from love-making, orgasm, conception and growth inside the womb, through to the actual birth day. This book names all the names and shows all the important parts of the body.
2. Fortunately by Remy Charlip - This book was intense as "Ned" encountered constant ups and downs for example:
Fortunately, Ned was invited to a surprise party.
Unfortunately, the party was a thousand miles away.Fortunately, a friend loaned Ned an airplane.
Unfortunately, the motor exploded.
Fortunately, there was a parachute in the airplane.
Unfortunately, there was a hole in the parachute.
The story goes on and on like this...bonus was the great artwork!
3. Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak - I never really understood the moral of this story but it sure was a fun one when I was a child. I have yet to see the movie adaptation but I have a feeling that the book was far more successful.
4. Ten Apples Up On Top! by Dr. Seuss - Another dramatic childhood thriller. Excitement builds as the characters attempt a large stack of apples upon their heads.
5. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt - I believe this was the first longer chapter book that I ever read and wow was I impressed. It is essentially a love story about a girl who is intrigued by a boy that lives forever. His secret is in the water and wouldn't ya know the girl then desires to drink the magic water too.
