Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama's Radical Agenda by Sean Hannity

If you have read this book or plan to do so in the future please feel free to post a comment below.

About this bookBarack Obama and his radical team of self-professed socialists, fringe activists, and others are trying to remake the American way of life. They have used their new Democratic majority to launch an alarming assault on our capitalist system—while abandoning the war on terror, undermining our national security, and weakening our position in the eyes of our enemies. The "candidate of change" is threatening to change our country irreparably, and for the worse—if we don't act to stop him now.

Sean Hannity has been sounding the alarms about Obama and his agenda from the start. Now—in his first new book in six years—he issues a stirring call to action. Hannity surveys all the major Obama players—from the president's affiliation with radical theology to his advisers' history of Marxist activism, repression of the media, support for leftist dictators, and worse. He exposes their resulting campaign to dismantle the American free-market system and forfeit our national sovereignty. But he draws on the examples of Ronald Reagan and the GOP's Contract with America to show how conservatives can unite behind this country's most cherished principles and act now to get America back on the right track—while we still can.

About the author - Sean Hannity is the host of radio's The Sean Hannity Show and TV's Hannity, and the author of the New York Times bestsellers Deliver Us from Evil and Let Freedom Ring. His radio show is heard by roughly 13.5 million loyal listeners on 500 stations nationwide. Hannity is the son of Hugh J. and Lillian F. Hannity. Both his paternal and maternal grandparents emigrated from Ireland. He has two sisters, Joanne S. Hannity and Therese (Hannity) Grisham. He grew up in Franklin Square, New York and attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Hempstead, New York during his middle school years and St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary high school in Uniondale, New York. Hannity dropped out of New York University and Adelphi University to pursue his broadcasting career.
During the late 1980s, Hannity was a general contractor in Santa Barbara, California and also a bartender. He married Jill Rhodes, a columnist for The Huntsville Times, on January 9, 1993. They have two children

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw by Jeff Kinney

If you have read this book or plan to do so, we greatly appreciate your reviews and comments below.

About this book - The third book in this genre-busting series is certain to enlarge Kinney’s presence on the bestseller lists, where the previous titles have taken up residence for the past two years. Kinney’s spot-on humor and winning formula of deadpan text set against cartoons are back in full force. This time, Greg starts off on New Year’s Day (he resolves to “help other people improve,” telling his mother, “I think you should work on chewing your potato chips more quietly”) and ends with summer vacation. As he fends off his father’s attempts to make him more of a man (the threat of military school looms), Greg’s hapless adventures include handing out anonymous valentines expressing his true feelings (“Dear James, You smell”), attempting to impress his classmate Holly and single-handedly wrecking his soccer team’s perfect season. Kinney allows himself some insider humor as well, with Greg noting the “racket” children’s book authors have going. “All you have to do is make up a character with a snappy name, and then make sure the character learns a lesson at the end of the book.” Greg, self-centered as ever, may be the exception proving that rule.

About the author - Jeff Kinney is an online game developer and designer, and the author of the #1 New York Times bestsellers Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. He spent his childhood in the Washington, D.C., area and now lives in southern Massachusetts with his wife and their two sons.

Microsoft's Windows 7 Upgrade by TheBookDork.com

Bill Gates, in an interview with Newsweek, suggested that this version of Windows would be more "user-centric". Gates later said that Windows 7 would also focus on performance improvements.  Steven Sinofsky later expanded on this point, explaining in the Engineering Windows 7 blog that the company was using a variety of new tracing tools to measure the performance of many areas of the operating system on an ongoing basis, to help locate inefficient code paths and to help prevent performance regressions.
Senior Vice President Bill Veghte stated that Windows Vista users migrating to Windows 7 would not find the kind of device compatibility issues they encountered migrating from Windows XP. Speaking about Windows 7 on October 16, 2008, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer confirmed compatibility between Vista and Windows 7, indicating that Windows 7 would be a refined version of Windows Vista
Unlike its predecessor, which introduced a large number of new features, Windows 7 was intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with the goal of being fully compatible with applications and hardware with which Windows Vista is already compatible. Presentations given by Microsoft in 2008 focused on multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, referred to as the Superbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup, and performance improvements. Some applications that have been included with prior releases of Microsoft Windows, including Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker, and Windows Photo Gallery, are not included in Windows 7; most are instead offered separately as part of the free Windows Live Essentials suite.

Ultrasound today. 30 weeks

Going in to have a look at baby bun. Now 30 weeks along and everything is going well. I've searched the internet to see other ultrasound pictures at 30 weeks and it is so crazy how clear the 3D images come out. Below is an example of a 30 ultrasound with 3D. This is NOT our baby.  I don't think our images will be 3D but it is really pretty amazing!
NOT OUR BABY
Wish us the best and will report with good news soon after the appointment.

Women Food and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything by Geneen Roth

If you have read this book or plan to do so, we greatly appreciate your reviews and comments below.

About this book - If you suffer about your relationship with food -- you eat too much or too little, think about what you will eat constantly or try not to think about it at all -- you can be free. Just look down at your plate. The answers are there. Don't run. Look. Because when we welcome what we most want to avoid, we contact the part of ourselves that is fresh and alive. We touch the life we truly want and evoke divinity itself.

Since adolescence, Geneen Roth has gained and lost more than a thousand pounds. She has been dangerously overweight and dangerously underweight. She has been plagued by feelings of shame and self-hatred and she has felt euphoric after losing a quick few pounds on a fad diet. Then one day, on the verge of suicide, she did something radical: She dropped the struggle, ended the war, stopped trying to fix, deprive and shame herself. She began trusting her body and questioning her beliefs.

It worked. And losing weight was only the beginning.

About the Author - Geneen Roth is the author of the bestseller, When Food is Love and seven other books. She has conducted workshops for over thirty years and has lead retreats for the past ten. Roth is a frequent contributor to many publications including Salon.com, Huffington Post and Good Housekeeping and has appeared on numerous national shows from Oprah, 20/20, Good Morning America, and The View, to Primetime Live and NPR's Talk of the Nation.

16 Year Old Girl Circumnavigating the Globe

Circumnavigate, the term itself sounds like a big deal and it is. Dictionary.com says it is "to sail or fly around; make the circuit of by navigation, to go or maneuver around." Many people think of Circumnavigating as something they do during heavy traffic but to 16 year old Abigail Sunderland this is something she is doing to our planet, alone! Since she was 6 months old she has been on boats and around water and at age 13 she began single-handing. Since then her dream has been to conquer the earth and be the youngest person to do so. After watching her brother, Zac Sunderland, accomplish the same feat, Abby has realized that her dream would undoubtedly come true with hard work and perseverance. Abby embarked on her journey January 23rd 2010 from Marina Del Rey, California and is currently about 900 miles Northwest of Cape Horn, Chile. She has gained much support from family, friends & sponsors and her spirits remain high. You can follow Abby on her blog or her website and root her on as the brave young girl completes an expedition that few ahead of her have completed.
